Our Expertise
Our speicific fields of concentration:
The principal scientific areas covered by the program are biology and physics; the major philosophical fields deal on Natural Philosophy, Natural Theology, Philosophy of Science and Philosophical Anthropology; and the theological aspect of the project considers the Sacred Scriptures and the Dogmas of the Church.
Message from the Rector of Angelicum
"When the Holy See was admitted as a signatory State of the Bologna Declaration in September 2003 the Ecclesiastical Universities and Faculties became part of the Bologna Process which aims at creating a European Higher Education Area. The Bologna Process promotes exchanges of professors and students between European Universities as well as interdisciplinary research. The STOQ project, which our Faculty of Philosophy has adhered to from the beginning, is a good example of such exchanges and interdisciplinary research. The positive sciences are moving ahead at great speed, but scientific methods and achievements need to be seen also from an ethical and faith perspective." ▪
AngelicumStoq of the Roman Circle
AngelicumSTOQ is incorporated in the licentiate Program of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome (Angelicum). It is part of the larger organization known as STOQ Project III that has 6 Pontifical Universities in Rome as members. The Project is coordinated by the Vatican's Pontifical Council for Culture and financed by John Templeton Foundation.
